Willoughby Leisure Centre
Project Overview
The Willoughby Leisure Centre is undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment to enhance its facilities and sustainability. The project includes a new eight-lane, 25m lap pool, a four-lane, 20m learn-to-swim pool, and a dedicated warm water program pool for rehabilitation, therapy, and fitness classes. Additional upgrades include a new spa and sauna, family change rooms, and improved accessibility features for all pools to support individuals with mobility restrictions. The center will benefit from a new pool hall roof, an improved water filtration system to reduce wastage and energy use, and replacement wooden court flooring. The sports hall will receive an insulated roof and external cladding for a more comfortable environment. The refurbished entry area will handle 30% more peak-time users, and the crèche will expand to accommodate 75% more children. Sustainability features include solar PV systems, rainwater harvesting, and a 5-Star Green Star rating.
